I am: ex teacher, quiet, semi-retired working part time locally & running a small business from home.
I work hard during the day, and enjoy relaxing in a quiet house at night.
I am looking for a friendly, clean and tidy person to share my house, together with 1 other lodger. Christy is a young professional male currently studying a Masters in engineering at Adelaide University.
You are: employed or studying, respectful, clean, tidy, non smoker, sane.
We have the ideal atmosphere for study as we maintain a quiet household.
The room is available immediately as my previous lodger has finished his Studies at Adelaide & took a job locally in engineering and recently bought a house.
The following may be too much information, but hopefully it will save everyone some time by helping you decide whether you want to follow this up.
If you apply I will require some obvious personal details and references.
The house is a comfortable fully furnished home in a quiet and convenient location in BEVERLEY 5009, situated midway between the city and Grange beach. Only 5. 3 kilometres from city.
It has 4 bedrooms, Lounge, kitchen/dining area, 1 bathroom and 2 toilets, with large laundry.
The living area has reverse-cycle air conditioning.
Use of facilities is all inclusive; I can supply (if needed), everything you will need including bed linen, cooking pots & pans, cutlery, toaster, crockery, microwave, fridge, new washing machine & dryer, TV, DVD, Internet.
Plenty of parking space in driveway.
The bedroom is fully furnished and contains a Queen size bed (with ample linen, pillows and quilt ), bedside dresser, fan, lamp, desk, chair, chest of drawers & wardrobe.
Electricity, Water, Gas and Internet are included in rent. No extra charge.
Frequent buses along Grange Road to the city and to the beach a few minutes away.
15 to 20 minutes travel from CITY
Buses available from CITY are; 300, 300G, B12, H30, H30C, H30S, N30, 100, 101, 115, 117, 118,
It is a 5 minute walk along East Avenue from the nearest stop; that is stop number 16 near EAST AVENUE & before the traffic lights at Crittenden Road.
The term of lease is negotiable for the right person.
Lodging is periodic with 4 weeks BOND plus one week rent in advance to begin.
I work on a weekly cash basis in advance for rent, with 2 weeks notice given by either person to leave.
I prefer at least 2 months to begin. If we all get along, and it's working, then the term could be extended beyond 12 months.
My previous lodger had been with me for over 3 years.
Shops: The local IGA supermarket is 5 minutes walk from here.
Findon Shopping Centre with Coles, Foodland & many Specialty shops including Post Office is 25 minutes walk or 5 minutes drive away.
The arrangement with my house is an "Owner -- Lodger" relationship, as distinct from a "Share" situation.
I run a small business from home and require PRIVACY and SECURITY. Therefore I cannot allow strangers and/or other people into my home who may be your "friends & acquaintances". This may change as a relationship with trust is established.
I personally clean all my house once a week as a regular routine, including rented rooms, when time allows.
My other lodgers have helped with various jobs but this is not a particular requirement as part of the agreement.
The person living in the room is expected to keep the room clean & tidy.
No food or drink in the bedroom.
Naturally. I do expect that a lodger will help by generally cleaning up after using such facilities as the bathroom, kitchen, dishes, laundry.
My "likes" are; a decent sense of humour and ability to have a conversation.
I have a regular lifestyle, that is :--
I like to work during the day and sleep at night.
My "dislikes" are someone living in their room like a pig, and spilling wine and food about the house and thinking it's perfectly okay.
I normally think of these things as simple RESPECT.
